Porter

You can carry more than most people twice your size. You know the proper technique for loading and balancing material to be moved from point A to point B. Individuals in your profession develop this skill under different circumstances, but the end result is always the same- if something needs to be carried from here to there, you are the person for the job. You could have developed this expertise in a number of different ways, including the following:

d4 Background Path
1 Packmule. You have done everything from bearing a noble’s litter through town to carrying supplies for parties of adventurers.
2 Porter. You worked at the docks or market square loading and unloading goods.
3 Mountain Guide. You have intricate knowledge of the logistics of mountain climbing and carried large amounts of gear up the mountain to prepare rest sites for the climbers that came after you.
4 Voyageur. You worked at a busy boat route where you carried boats and equipment over a stretch of land before depositing the boat back in the water where the waterway resumed.

Skill Proficiencies: Acrobatics, Athletics

Languages: One of your choice from among the standard languages

Equipment: A climber’s kit, a backpack, a pouch, a waterskin, 50 feet of hempen rope, a set of traveler’s clothes, and a pouch containing 5 gp

Feature: Light as a Feather

You are a master of ergonomics, packing efficiently and positioning your body just right to carry a maximum load without straining muscles or twisting ankles. For the purposes of determining your carrying capacity, treat your size as one category larger. For example, if your size is Medium, you would be treated as Large, and therefore your carrying capacity and the amount you can push, drag, or lift is double the amount a Medium creature can carry. (Medium creatures can carry their Strength score multiplied by 15. They can push, drag, or lift a weight in pounds up to twice their carrying capacity.) Furthermore, while pushing or dragging weight in excess of your carrying capacity, your speed only drops to 10 feet rather than 5 feet.
