Archer Conclave

Rangers of the Archer Conclave are the masters of ranged combat, or more precisely, masters of weapons that use projectiles to strike their targets.

Whereas most combatants use ranged weapons to supplement their style and to potentially damage a foe or two before entering melee, the Archer feels just as comfortable firing their weapon standing amidst the whirling blades of melee combat as they do sniping from behind cover. Such rangers are never found without a bow and a clutch of arrows or a crossbow and a case of bolts, ready to put that ammunition to good use.

Adept Marksmanship

3rd-level Archer feature

When attacking with any ranged weapon with the projectile quality, you gain the following benefits:

  • Your ranged weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
  • The range with any weapon that has the projectile property is doubled.
  • When you use the Attack action with a ranged weapon on your turn, you can make one additional ranged weapon attack with that weapon as a bonus action.

Eagle-Eyed

3rd-level Archer feature

You gain a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Wisdom modifier and gain proficiency in Wisdom (Perception) checks if you do not already possess it.

In addition, you may use the Search action as a bonus action.

Improved Marksmanship

7th-level Archer feature

In addition to the features gained from Adept Marksmanship, when attacking with any ranged weapon with the projectile quality, you gain the following benefits:

  • Any ranged weapon attack you make with a weapon that has the projectile property increases its damage die by one step when used as part of a ranged attack. For example, a longbow now deals 1d10 points of damage instead of 1d8 damage.

Master Marksmanship

11th-level Archer feature

In addition to the features gained before, when attacking with any ranged weapon with the projectile quality, you gain the following benefits:

  • You can use your action to make a single ranged attack against a creature you can see within your weapon’s range. If the attack hits, the attack deals an extra die of damage of the weapon’s type to the target for each attack sacrificed during the Attack action. If you spend your bonus action aiming, you gain advantage on the attack roll. These additional damage dice are not multiplied on a critical hit.
  • You can use your action to make a ranged attack against any number of creatures within 10 feet of a point you can see within your weapon’s range. You must have ammunition for each target, as normal, and you make a separate attack roll for each target.

Legendary Marksmanship

15th-level Archer feature

In addition to the features gained before, when attacking with any ranged weapon with the projectile quality, you gain the following benefits:

  • Whenever an enemy misses you with either a melee or ranged weapon attack, you may use your reaction to make a single ranged weapon attack against that creature, provided that you can see the creature.
  • Whenever you miss with a ranged weapon attack using a weapon with the projectile quality on a d20 roll of 9 or lower, you may use your bonus action to treat the d20 roll as a 10.
  • You do not have disadvantage on attack rolls when making ranged attacks within 5 feet of a hostile creature.
  • Your ranged attacks ignore half cover and three-quarters cover against targets within 30 feet of you.
