The deities of despair are patrons of those who crush the hopes of others as a means of control or out of sheer enjoyment in the emotional pain caused. They are the ironfisted tyrants, fell sorcerers and lovers of mayhem. They sow paranoia, hopelessness and fear whenever they can for doing so, brings them closer to the grace of their dark deities.

Domain Spells

You gain domain spells at the cleric levels listed.


When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain proficiency in the Deception, Intimidation or Stealth skill (your choice).

Expectation of Failure

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you may, as an action, whisper words of impending doom and failure upon a target.

The target must make a Wisdom saving throw DC 8 + your proficiency modifier + your spellcasting modifier. If they fail the saving throw for the next minute they are cursed with possible failure.

Anytime during the minute you may roll a d4 and deduct the result from any attack roll, skill check, ability check or saving throw made by the target. Once used the curse is discharged.

Channel Divinity: Feed on the Bleakness

Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity as an action to feed upon the fear and despair of those around you. Each creature within 30 feet that is affected by the frightened or demoralized conditions heals you by 1d8 plus your spellcasting modifier (to a maximum number of d8s equal to your level).

Channel Divinity: Aura of Despair

At 6th level, you may use your Channel Divinity as an action to exude a 20 ft. aura of hopelessness and paranoia. All creatures beginning their turn in or entering the aura must make a Wisdom saving throw or be demoralized until their next turn. This saving throw is repeated every turn as long as the creatures are in the affected area. The aura remains in effect for 1 minute or until you dismiss it as a bonus action.

Divine Strike

Starting at 8th level, you add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with any cleric cantrip 2d8.

Destroyer of Hopes

At 17th level, the radius of the aura of despair extends to 40 feet. Additionally, any creature subject to the Demoralized condition has disadvantage on all saving throws against cleric spells cast by you.
