Master Magus

Mortals can bind a soul just as well as any demon lord, and you’ve asked a master magus to provide you with a quick path to arcane power. A wizard of phenomenal power selected you, but you’re kept on a short leash, given only the power your master sees fit. You gained arcane power without having studied, but also without the freedom of those who’ve worked for it.

Folios of the Master

Starting at level 1, you use the wizard spell list instead of the warlock spell list. When selecting spells. The master magus provides you with a spellbook that you can copy spells into. Your spellbook starts with two cantrips and two 1st level spells. Each time you gain a warlock level, you can add two wizard spells of your choice to your spellbook for free. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots, as shown on the warlock table. On your adventures, you might find other spells that you can add to your spellbook. You prepare spells as a wizard does, but use your spell slots as a warlock.

You can cast a wizard spell as a ritual if that spell has the ritual tag and you have the spell in your spellbook. You don’t need to have the spell prepared.

Tutelage of the Master Magus

Starting at 6th level, your master bestows upon you an extra arcane ability. Choose an arcane tradition. You gain the 2nd level abilities of that tradition.

Expended Arcane Power

Starting at 10th level, your exposure to the master grants you further insights into his methods and a greater measure of his power. Increase the total number of spell slots you have by 2.

Maguses Prodigy

When you reach 14th level, the master teaches you how to empower your spells with your own life force. you may cast an unprepared spell three times per day. This causes damage to you equal to 1d6 per spell level of the spell, i.e. a 3rd level spell would cause you 3d6 points of damage. This damage loss cannot be prevented in any way, and can only be healed through natural resting, although magic can be used to stabilize and prevent you from dying. You complete the spell before the damage is dealt.
