Necrophagic Conduit (Sorcerous Origin)

You were not born this way, or at least you hope not. It all started when you got close to the mysterious artifact. You started hearing voices you know telling you to do things. You began to change, slowly at first. You developed an innate capacity for magic that grew the more you listened to the voices. Why won’t the voices stop, what is happening to you?

Void Artifact Spells

Starting at 1st level, you learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the list below. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be a divination or an transmutation spell from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list

Touch of the Artifact

Starting at 1st level, you can act as a psychic conduit of the void artifact to tear at the psyches of those near by. You learn the Mind Sliver spell, which doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer cantrips you know. When you cast the spell, the range is reduced to 10 feet but you can target up to 1 creature per 3 levels you posses within that radius. At 10th level, the radius extends to 20 feet. Additionally, you can ignore a necrophage creature’ s immunity to the Charmed condition.

Spread the Necrophage

Starting at 6th level, you can spend a sorcery point to transfer some of the psychic energy from the void artifact into a mostly-intact dead body and create a necrophage creature. Doing so is an action that requires you to touch the body. This otherwise operates as the Infect with Necrophage ability of the Infector necrophage creature.

Detect Hosts

Starting at 14th level, the voice in your head guides you to the location of potential hosts of the necrophage. You can sense any living creature or suitable corpse within 30 feet. You know their general direction and distance, not their exact location, os this does not let you target an invisible creature, though it lets you know they are near. At 20th level, the radius extends to 60 feet.

True Void Conduit

At 18th level, you become one with the void artifact, there is little separation between your mind and its. You are immune to the Charmed and Frightened conditions and have advantage on any saving throw that targets the mind, like psychic spells, emotions, etc. You no longer die unless the void artifact is destroyed. If you do, you reform at the base of the artifact 1d4 days later. If the void artifact is destroyed, you die instantly. Additionally, a creature killed by your touch of the artifact ability is instantly turned into a necrophage creature. See the Spread the Necrophage ability on page 13.
