Oath of Emancipation

Paladins taking the Oath of Emancipation promise to lead the fight against slavery, tyranny, evil usurpers, and unlawful aggressors.

Known as liberators or eagle knights, these stalwart souls lead revolutions and strive to enact change that opens the door for personal freedom and selfdetermination.

Tenets of Devotion

The Oath of Emancipation asks its paladins to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.

Diligence. Never falter. Do not allow pain or adversity to alter your course.

Freedom. The chains of bondage must be broken— no one should live bound as a slave.

Hope. Be the light in the darkness.

Responsibility. The suffering of the oppressed will continue so long as able-bodied souls ignore their plight.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of Emancipation Spells
Paladin Level Spells
3rd bless, command
5th aid, magic weapon
9th beacon of hope, crusader’s mantle
13th death ward, freedom of movement
17th destructive wave, passwall

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Rallying Cry. You can use your Channel Divinity to boost the morale of those fighting for your cause. As an action, you cry out with words of encouragement. You, and all friendly creatures within 30 feet of you that heard your cry, gain a +2 circumstance bonus on attack rolls for 1 minute. This effect ends if you fall unconscious.

Unfettered Crusader. As an action, you present your holy symbol and use your Channel Divinity to gain greater mobility. For 1 minute, your movement is unaffected by difficult terrain, your speed cannot be reduced by any means, and being underwater imposes no penalties on your movement or attacks.

Aura of Freedom

Starting at 7th level, attempts to hinder your movement are more difficult. You and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you gain advantage on saving throws against the grappled, paralyzed, and restrained conditions.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet, and you gain immunity to paralysis.

Unrestrained Movement

Beginning at 15th level, you can pass through an enemy’s space regardless of its size. (Moving out of a foe’s reach still provokes the opportunity attack reaction.)
