Oath of Saints

Paladins who choose the Oath of Saints as their sacred oath at 3rd level gain the following class features:

The Oath of Saints idealizes the holiness and good deeds of great heroes of the past, inspiring the paladin to perform similar deeds and uphold the traditions of sacred knighthood. They are an active knighthood, devoted to seeking out evil and protecting vulnerable people and places from powerful foes, which means that at any time a knight might be crusading against a known enemy or guarding something from an expected threat.

Tenets of Devotion

Each morning, I pray and invoke six heroes by name and title, which reminds me of the many stories and records of their deeds that were passed down to me, to inspire my own heroics and that may someday inspire others.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Paladin Level Spells
3rd guiding bolt, longstrider
5th enhance ability, see invisibility
9th fly, haste
13th guardian of faith, stoneskin
17th dispel evil and good, mass cure wounds

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following Channel Divinity options. Each day when you prepare your spells, you choose one of the heroes of the knighthood, and that determines which Channel Divinity option you can use. You can choose a different hero after a short or long rest.

  • Sacred Weapon. When you choose Lothian or St. Chausle, you can imbue one weapon that you are holding with positive energy, as if you were a paladin with the Oath of Devotion.
  • Turn the Unholy. When you choose St. Gustav or St. Yessid, you can censure fiends and undead, as if you were a paladin with the Oath of Devotion.
  • Abjure Enemy. When you choose St. Daris or St. Feldin, you can denounce one foe of any type, as if you were a paladin with the Oath of Vengeance.

Pale Aura

At 7th level, your holiness allows you to call upon the sacred heroes for additional abilities.

The hero you chose for your Channel Divinity ability determines which Pale Aura you have active. (Choosing a different hero for your Channel Divinity after a short or long rest also changes the effect of your Pale Aura.)

  • Aura of Devotion: By choosing St. Chausle or St. Gustav, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you can’t be charmed while you are conscious, as if you were a paladin with the Oath of Devotion. (This range does not increase at 18th level.)
  • Aura of Warding: By choosing Lothian, St. Feldin, or St. Yessid, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have resistance to damage against spells, as if you were a paladin with the Oath of the Ancients. (This range does not increase at 18th level.)
  • Relentless Avenger: By choosing St. Daris, you can move up to half your speed when you hit a creature with an opportunity attack, as if you were a paladin with the Oath of Vengeance.

Purity of Spirit

Beginning at 15th level, you are always under the effects of a protection from evil and good spell.

Avenging Angel

At 20th level, you can assume the form of an angelic avenger, as if you were a paladin with the Oath of Vengeance.
