Path of the Witch Hunter

Witch hunter barbarians specialize in taking down spellcasters. These warriors have learned to battle spellcasters instinctively and their hatred of them fuels their rage.

Warded Rage

Starting at 3rd level, when you go into a rage, you add your Wisdom modifier to saving throws vs spells.

Furious Throw

Starting at 3rd level, while raging you add your rage damage to thrown weapons that use Strength, and you can draw the weapon as part of the attack.

Instinctive Arcana

Starting at 3rd level, you have acquired an instinct when it comes to matters of the arcane. You’ve never been trained in the traditional sense, but you understand how arcane forces flow and affect the environment. You are trained in Arcana, and you use your Wisdom rather than Intelligence to resolve Arcana checks. You can also cast the spells, detect magic and identify as rituals. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for these spells.

Barbarian Counterspell

Starting at 6th level, you are able to make a reactionary attack to disrupt the casting of a spell.

When a creature within 60 feet of you that you can see is casting a spell using somatic or verbal components you can see or hear, you can use your reaction to attack that creature with a melee or thrown weapon or unarmed strike attack. If the attack hits, the caster must make a concentration check as if they were concentrating on a spell or the casting is disrupted and the spell is lost. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier. You regain all spent uses after completing a long rest.

Improved Warded Rage

At 10th level, your warded rage gains more potency. When you are raging, you have resistance to spell damage.

Improved Barbarian Counterspell

Starting at 14th level, you can move half your speed prior to making the reactionary attack to disrupt the casting of a spell, but you still must be within 60 feet of the caster before starting your reaction. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.

Magic Killing Rage

Starting at 14th level, you can focus your rage to snuff out magic. While raging, you can cast the spell dispel magic once with this trait. This is an exception to the rule that you can’t cast spells while raging.

The spell is cast at a level equal to one fourth your barbarian level; for instance, if you are a 16th level barbarian, the spell is cast as a 4th level spell. You regain the use of this ability after finishing a long rest. You may expend unused rages to cast this spell additional times. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for this spell.
