Way of the Glimumann

Glima is a martial art form practiced by the Norse. It is a wrestling style of combat that specializes in getting up close with an opponent and attempting to hurl his opponent.

Glimumenn are specialists in grabbing opponents by their sword belts and smashing them to the ground. Most deadly and effective, however, is the follow up smash to the head with a stone.

Glimustaoa

When you choose this way at 3rd level, your unarmed strikes can deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier. If you strike with two free hands, the d6 becomes a d8. When you successfully start a grapple, you can deal 1d4 bludgeoning damage to the grappled creature.

Until the grapple ends, you can also deal this damage to the creature whenever you hit it with a melee attack.

Stigandi

Starting at 6th level, you gain the following benefits.

  • Throw. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one ki point to throw the target. You add the 1d8 to the attack‘s damage roll, and if the target is Large or smaller, it must make a Strength saving throw equal to 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus. On a failed save, you push the target up to 15 feet away from you.
  • Trip. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one ki point to attempt to knock the target down. You add the 1d8 to the attack‘s damage roll, and if the target is Large or smaller, it must make a Strength saving throw equal to 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus. On a failed save, you knock the target prone.

Blind Fighting

At 11th level, you are practiced at looking over your opponent’s right shoulder, but never at his feet. The reason for this is that a glimumann wrestles by touch and not by sight. Being unable to see a creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your attack rolls against it, provided the creature isn’t hidden from you.

Smashing Stone

Starting at 17th level, when a glimumann wrestles, he wrestles to the death. Two wrestlers typically drag a large, waist-high, tapered slab of rock to a wrestling field. This stone is used to bludgeon an opponent to death. If no stone is available, a glimumann can use any two-handed bludgeon weapon. You can instantly kill another living giant, humanoid, or monstrosity with a single strike. As an action, you touch one creature within 5 feet of you, and you expend 1 to 10 ki points. The target must make a Constitution saving throw, and it takes 2d10 bludgeoning damage per ki point spent on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
