SPECIAL TRAITS

  • Amphibious. The biasd na srogaig can breathe air and water.
  • Charge. If the biasd na srogaig moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a gore attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
  • Fey Ancestry. The fey has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put it to sleep.
  • Keen Smell. The biasd na srogaig has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
  • Saddle. The biasd na srogaig can wear a saddle on its back. One Medium or two Small creatures can sit on the saddle without squeezing. To make a melee attack against a target within 5 feet of the biasd na srogaig, they must use spears or weapons with reach. If the biasd na srogaig dies, creatures hanging fall straight down, taking falling damage, and land in unoccupied spaces within 5 feet of the biasd na srogaig s position on the ground.

ACTIONS

  • Multiattack. The biasd na srogaig makes two attacks: one with its Gore and one with its Hooves.
  • Gore. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) piercing damage.
  • Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d4 + 4) bludgeoning damage.
  • Reflective Horn. The biasd na srogaig’s horn possesses a mesmerizing sheen that can confuse and disorient opponents. As an action, the creature can target a creature within 60 feet that can see it. The target must succeed on a DC 11 Wisdom saving throw or become charmed for 1 minute. While charmed, the target is incapacitated and has a speed of 0. The charmed target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. Undead creatures and creatures immune to being charmed are unaffected by this ability. Once a creature successfully saves against the Reflective Horn, it is immune to this ability for the next 24 hours.

BONUS ACTIONS

  • Healing Touch (3/Day). As a bonus action, the biasd na srogaig touches a creature it can see within 5 feet of it. The target magically regains 11 (2d10) hit points and is cured of any diseases or conditions affecting it.

ABOUT

The biasd na srogaig is tall and clumsy, with long gangly legs and an awkward gait. It possesses a single large horn on its forehead, which has a mesmerizing sheen.

The biasd na srogaig (bee-YAST-na-SHRO-gag), also known as the “Beast of the Lowering Horn,” is a unique creature native to lochs. The creature primarily inhabits the depths of the lochs, residing in dark underwater caves or hidden among the marshy regions surrounding the water. It is most active during dusk and dawn, venturing onto the land to graze on aquatic plants and drink from freshwater sources.

The biasd na srogaig is not an inherently aggressive creature and prefers to avoid conflict. However, if threatened or its territory is encroached upon, it unleashes its formidable attacks with surprising speed and strength. It is known to exhibit defensive behavior when protecting its young, using its horn’s mesmerizing effect to disorient and distract potential threats.

In combat, the biasd na srogaig relies on its powerful gore attack and hoof strikes to subdue opponents. Its charge ability allows it to deliver devastating blows when it charges towards its target. Additionally, its reflective horn possesses an enchanting quality, allowing the creature to charm foes and render them temporarily incapacitated.

Folklore surrounding the biasd na srogaig suggest that its horn holds mystical healing properties. Once per day, the creature can use its horn to purge diseases, neutralize poisons, and provide protection against being charmed or frightened.
