SPECIAL TRAITS

  • Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the dragon fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
  • Siege Monster. The dhuguisch deals double damage to objects and structures.

ACTIONS

  • Multiattack. The dhuguisch can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes three attacks: one with its Bite and two with its Claws.
  • Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d10 + 8) piercing damage plus 14 (4d6) fire damage.
  • Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d8 + 8) slashing damage plus 14 (4d6) fire damage.
  • Frightful Presence. Each creature of the dragon’s choice within 120 feet of it and aware of it must succeed on a DC 19 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the dhuguisch’s Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.
  • Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d8 + 8) bludgeoning damage.
  • Fire Breath (Recharge 5-6). The dhuguisch exhales fire in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw, taking 66 (12d10) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

LEGENDARY ACTIONS

The dhuguisch can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. The dhuguisch regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

  • Detect. The dhuguisch makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.
  • Tail Attack. The dhuguisch makes a tail attack.
  • Burning Breath (Costs 2 Actions). The dhuguisch uses its fire breath.

ABOUT

Towering above the landscape, the dhuguisch measures over 30 feet in length and possesses a sleek, serpentine body covered in obsidian scales. Its eyes burn with an intense, fiery glow.

The dhuguisch (doo-GISH), also known as the Beast of Dhu Guisch or the Dragon of the Charred Forests, is a fearsome and powerful dragon. It is said to have been born from a fire that burned for seven years, bestowing it with an affinity for flames and an insatiable hunger for destruction. The dhuguisch once roamed the ancient, impenetrable forests only to reduce the forest and reducing everything in its path to ash.

The dhuguisch is a fearsome hunter, relying on its fiery breath and razor-sharp claws to overpower its prey. It exhibits a particular fondness for capturing plump victims, and its destructive nature makes it an apex predator within its territory. The mere presence of the dhuguisch in an area instills terror, causing people to abandon their villages and seek refuge until the dragon moves on.

Dhuguisch have a surprisingly long neck that can strike quickly like a snake, capable of snatching people through open doors and windows right out of their homes. The dragon’s fiery breath can incinerate entire forests and reduce structures to smoldering ruins. Its insatiable appetite for destruction make it a legendary adversary.
