ACTIONS

  • Constrict. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) bludgeoning damage and the target is grappled (escape DC 16). Until this grapple ends, the creature is restrained, and the Empty Root can’t constrict another target.
  • Inject. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, one grappled creature. Hit: 1 point of piercing damage and the grappled creature must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is paralyzed until the grapple ends.
  • Leech. The empty root drains blood from a paralyzed and grappled creature. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or have its hit point maximum reduced by 1. This reduction lasts until the creature finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.
