SPECIAL TRAITS

  • Keen Smell. The ciudach has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
  • Mouth of Madness. The ciudach is immune to the confusion spell. On each of its turns, the ciudach uses all its movement to move toward the nearest creature or whatever else it might perceive as food. Roll a d10 at the start of each of the ciudach’s turns to determine its action for that turn: 1 3: The ciudach makes three Fist attacks against one random creature within reach. If no creatures are within reach, the ciudach flies into a rage and gains advantage on all attack rolls until the end of its next turn. 4 5: The ciudach makes one Fist attack against each creature within reach. If no creatures are within reach, the ciudach makes one Fist attack against itself. 6 7: The ciudach makes one Bite attack against one random creature within reach. If no other creatures are within reach, its eyes glaze over and it is stunned until the start of its next turn. 8 10: The ciudach makes one Bite attack and two Fist attacks against one random creature within reach. If no creatures are within reach, the ciudach flies into a rage and gains advantage on all attack rolls until the end of its next turn.
  • Stench. Any creature that starts its turn within 10 feet of the ciudach must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the start of its next turn. On a successful saving throw, the creature is immune to the ciudach’s stench for 24 hours.

ACTIONS

  • Fist. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage.
  • Bite. Melee Weapon Attack. +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) piercing damage, and the ciudach magically regains hit points equal to the damage dealt.
  • Horrific Feast. The ciudach feeds on the corpse of one enemy within reach that died within the past minute. Each creature of the ciudach’s choice that is within 60 feet and able to see the feeding must succeed on a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of the ciudach for 1 minute. While frightened in this way, a creature is incapacitated, can’t understand what others say, can’t read, and speaks only in gibberish. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the ciudach’s Horrific Feast for the next 24 hours.

BONUS ACTIONS

  • Rampage. When the ciudach reduces a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack on its turn, the ciudach can take a bonus action to move up to half its speed and make a bite attack.

ABOUT

Ciudachs stand an impressive 15 feet tall and weigh as much as four oxen. They possess a hulking and muscular build, with weathered skin ranging from shades of green to reddish-brown. Their eyes burn with a feral intensity, and their long, unkempt hair adds to their savage appearance. The foul stench emanating from their dark caves is often associated with their presence.

Ciudachs (kyoo-DATH) are cannibalistic giants that dwell in deep caverns and mountains. Once a tribe of marauding barbarians, they became savages and sought refuge in caves. Over time, they grew in size and strength, transforming into cannibalistic ciudachs. It is believed that their worship of evil spirits granted them strength but drove them to insanity. Ciudachs now live as solitary creatures, feared and avoided by others.

Ciudachs are fierce hunters, utilizing their immense strength and intimidating size to overpower their prey. Their cannibalistic nature drives them to seek out flesh to satiate their hunger. They are known to stalk their victims silently before launching devastating attacks. The ciudach’s ability to detect prey by scent, along with their sheer physical power, makes them formidable predators in their domain.
