SPECIAL TRAITS

  • Fey Ancestry. The lunantisidhe has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put it to sleep.
  • Innate Spellcasting. The lunantisidhe’s innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 13). The lunantisidhe can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
  • Magic Resistance. The lunantisidhe has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
  • Plant Camouflage. The lunantisidhe has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks it makes in any terrain with ample obscuring plant life.
  • Thorny Hide. At the start of each of its turns, the lunantisidhe deals 2 (1d4) piercing damage to any creature grappling it or that it is grappling.
  • Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, the lunantisidhe has disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
  • Tree Stride. Once on its turn, the lunantisidhe can use 10 feet of its movement to step magically into one living tree within its reach and emerge from a second living tree within 60 feet of the first tree, appearing in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the second tree. Both trees must be Large or bigger.

ACTIONS

  • Blackthorn Club. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit (+5 to hit with shillelagh), reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2 (1d4) piercing damage, or 7 (1d8 + 3) piercing damage with shillelagh. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or become restrained by twisting vines for 1 minute. A target restrained in this way can use an action to make a DC 13 Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check, ending the effect on itself on a success.

ABOUT

Lunantisidhe are small, wizened fey creatures resembling hairless humanoids with numerous thorns protruding from their head. Their thin forms, pointed ears, and long teeth contribute to their eerie appearance. They possess long arms and fingers that aid in their agility and climbing abilities.

Lunantisidhe (lew-NAN-ti-SHEE) are closely associated with blackthorn trees, which they inhabit and protect. Found in groups, they harbor an intense hatred for humans, particularly those who would harm blackthorn trees. Their primary activity occurs at night, and they are known to leave their trees only during full moons to honor the moon goddess.

Lunantisidhe are spiteful creatures, harboring deep-seated animosity toward humans. They use their innate magical abilities to inflict curses, madness, and ensnaring thorns upon those who threaten their beloved blackthorn trees. Their curses are most potent during the festivals when the blackthorn is traditionally cut. Those who provoke their wrath by attempting to harm blackthorn trees during these times may find themselves cursed.

Lunantisidhe’s sole purpose is to protect the blackthorn trees from human intrusion. They are deeply connected to the trees and often reside within their branches. These fey creatures fiercely defend the sanctity of their home, and anyone who dares to cross their boundaries faces their wrath.
