SPECIAL TRAITS

    • Amphibious. The onchu can breathe air and water.
    • Flyby. The onchu doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks when it flies out of an enemy’s reach.
    • Innate Spellcasting. The onchu’s innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 14, +6 to hit with spell attacks). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
      • At will: spare the dying
      • 3/day each: gentle repose, revivify
      • Keen Hearing and Smell. The onchu has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
      • Pack Tactics. The onchu has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the lion’s allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn’t incapacitated.
      • Royal Bond. Humanoids of royal blood can perform a special 1 hour ritual to bond with the onchu. Thereafter, the onchu is magically bound to the royal. As long as the onchu and the royal are on the same plane of existence, the royal can telepathically call the onchu to travel to it, and the onchu knows the distance and direction to the royal. If the royal dies, the onchu knows.

ACTIONS

      • Multiattack. The onchu makes two attacks: one with its Bite and one with its Claws.
      • Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage.
      • Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) slashing damage.

BONUS ACTIONS

      • Nimble Escape. The onchu can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of its turns.
      • Pounce. If the onchu moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a claw attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the onchu can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.

ABOUT

This curious creature has the head of a fox, the breast and forelegs of an eagle, and the hindquarters of a wolf. Its fur is soft and fluffy, resembling that of a fox but slightly longer. The onchu’s wings are large and feathered, enabling it to fly swiftly through the air.

The onchu, also known as the enfield, is a small mythical creature with a unique combination of animal features. Onchus are commonly found in areas close to human populations, especially near towns and settlements. They seek out places with warm climates and can often be seen lazing around in sunny patches. Their ability to fly allows them to explore a wide range of habitats, including forests, grasslands, and even urban areas.

Onchus are carnivorous creatures that primarily feed on scraps and small creatures. They have adapted to rely on humans for easy meals, often stealing food from open pantries or scavenging in waste areas. While they are generally non-territorial, female onchus become protective of their young and may display aggression if their nests are threatened.

Onchus are opportunistic hunters, taking advantage of their agility and stealth to catch their prey. They are known for their sneakiness and can mimic human actions, making them skilled thieves. They have a knack for snatching small objects, much like a pickpocket, and are particularly attracted to shiny items.

Despite their small size, onchus possess sharp claws and a powerful bite, allowing them to defend themselves if provoked. They are adept at ambushing their prey, utilizing their nimbleness and the element of surprise to gain an advantage. When hunting in a group, onchus coordinate their attacks, using their pounce ability to knock down larger foes before delivering deadly bites and slashes.

Onchu are often raised as pets for nobles, an ancient bond that ties them through rituals to a particular royal line. These onchu are tasked with not defending their charges but protecting their corpses so that they may be given a proper burial.
