SPECIAL TRAITS

  • Fey Ancestry. The saleerandee has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put it to sleep.
  • Heated Body. A creature that touches the saleerandee or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 3 (1d6) fire damage.
  • Heated Weapons. Any metal melee weapon the saleerandee wields deals an extra 3 (1d6) fire damage on a hit (included in the attack).

ACTIONS

  • Multiattack. The saleerandee makes two melee attacks with its Shortsword. Alternatively, it can use Hurl Flame twice.
  • Shortsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage plus 3 (1d6) fire damage.
  • Hurl Flame. Ranged Spell Attack: +4 to hit, range 150 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (3d6) fire damage. If the target is a flammable object that isn’t being worn or carried, it also catches fire.
  • Inferno Step (Recharge 5-6). The saleerandee magically engulfs itself in flames and teleports to an unoccupied space it can see within 30 feet. Each creature within 5 feet of the destination point must succeed on a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or take 3 (1d6) fire damage.

BONUS ACTIONS

  • Invisibility. The saleerandee is naturally invisible. It can turn visible or invisible at will as a bonus action.

ABOUT

Saleerandees are bipedal reptilian fey covered in shimmering, colorful scales. They stand about three feet tall and have a slender build. Their eyes glow with an inner fire, and they move with agility and grace. Despite their lizard-like appearance, they possess a certain otherworldly beauty.

Saleerandees seek out warmth and fire, making their homes near human fireplaces, blacksmith shops, and campfires. They are particularly drawn to places where flames crackle and dance.

Saleerandees are descendants of elemental beings known as salamanders, and they have a deep affinity for fire. They are known to gather around flames, soaking in the heat to alleviate their natural coldness. Despite their intimidating appearance, they are benevolent creatures, often imparting their knowledge of fire manipulation to those who show them kindness.

Saleerandees are primarily focused on seeking warmth and avoiding conflicts. However, if threatened or provoked, they can defend themselves with their fiery abilities and short swords. In combat, they prefer to use their Hurl Flame ability to attack from a distance, and they can also teleport using Inferno Step to reposition themselves strategically. Their invisibility grants them an advantage in both hunting and avoiding danger.
