  • Beast of Burden. The sawhorse is a Huge creature for the purpose of determining its carrying capacity.
  • Constructed Nature. The automaton doesn’t require air, food, drink, or sleep.
  • Magic Resistance. The automaton has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
  • Orgone Engine. When the sawhorse suffers a critical hit or dies, roll on the Orgone Engine Malfunction table.
  • Magic Weapons. The automaton’s weapon attacks are magical.
  • Repairable. The vril host can be repaired using carpenter’s tools. See Chapter 3: Equipment (Repairing an Innovation).
  • Sure-Footed. The sawhorse has advantage on Strength and Dexterity saving throws made against effects that would knock it prone.


  • Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: your spell attack modifier to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + proficiency bonus) bludgeoning damage.
  • Repair (3/Day). The sawhorse restores 2d8 + proficiency bonus hit points to itself or to one wooden structure within 5 feet of it.


This sock puppet has no discernible hand or arm controlling it.
