SPECIAL TRAITS

  • Aversion to Dry Ground. When the water wight is on dry ground, it has disadvantage on attack rolls.

ACTIONS

  • Multiattack. The water wight makes two Longsword attacks. It can use Drown in place of one of these attacks.
  • Longsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) slashing damage or 8 (1d10 + 3) slashing damage if used with two hands.
  • Drown. The water wight locks eyes with its enemy, conjuring within its target the raging waters of the sea. The target must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, salt water fills the target’s mouth, throat, and lungs, and the target has no breath len’t and immediately begins to drown. The target may repeat the saving throw at the end of their turn. On a success, the effect ends. The effect ends if the target or the water wight is reduced to 0 hit 18 points. A target that dies in this fashion rises 24 hours later as a zombie under the water wight’s control. The wight can have no more than six zombies under its control at one time.

ABOUT

An undead elf, draped in the rotting trappings of a long-lost civilization, shambles toward you through the surf.

Water wights wield rusted and rotting weapons of lost elvish cultures, and are vengeful and unforgiving foes. They continue to mindlessly protect their houses and lands, with little regard to the fact that they-and everyone they knew-are dead. They cannot be reasoned with, unable to face the truth of their tragic end.

Undead Nature. A water wight doesn’t require air, food, drink, or sleep.
