Champion’s Shield

Armor (shield), rare (requires attunement by a paladin)

This kite-shaped +1 shield is embossed with the image of a strong white tower. When the wielder uses their divine smite class ability, they gain a +1 bonus to AC against that creature for a number of rounds equal to the level of the spell slot expended in the smite. If the target is an undead or a fiend, this AC bonus is increased to +2. As a bonus action, you can grant this AC bonus to an adjacent ally rather than yourself.
