Crusader Scepter

Rod, very rare (requires attunement)

This 3-foot-long golden rod is inlaid with golden vines and surmounted by a gleaming golden orb flanked by elaborate flanges. It sheds light as a torch and can be wielded as a +2 morningstar.

As a bonus action, you can cause a long, bladed shaft to extend from the glowing orb atop the rod, transforming it into a +2 lance, or can transform it back to its normal length.

The light of the crusader scepter helps reveal the truth, granting you advantage on Wisdom (Insight) and Wisdom (Perception) checks or Wisdom saving throws made to recognize illusions or tell when someone is lying, as long as the creature or illusion is within 20 feet of you.

The crusader scepter also has 5 charges. You can use these charges to cast any of the following spells, requiring 1 charge each: blinding smite, crusader’s mantle, daylight, heroism. The crusader scepter can maintain concentration on one of these spells, allowing you to cast and/or concentrate on other spells. The scepter regains 1d4 charges each day at dawn.
