Dread Cloak

Wondrous item, artifact (requires attunement)

This evil artifact is as black as night and lined with black felt. You gain a +5 bonus to AC and saving throws while you wear this cloak, and are protected by nondetection. It has the following abilities, each requiring your action to activate.

  • Displacement as a cloak of displacement, lasting ten minutes. You can’t use this property again until you finish a long rest.
  • Invisibility as the invisibility spell, lasting ten minutes. You can’t use this property again until you finish a long rest.
  • Teleportation as the teleport spell, but affecting only you and your equipment. You can’t use this property again until seven days have passed.

To attune yourself to the Dread Cloak, you must bathe it in the blood of a human and eat that human’s heart. If you fail to repeat this process every seven days, you lose your attunement to the cloak.
