Escape Dust

Wondrous Item, uncommon

This coarse, crystalline powder can be used in two ways.

A creature can hurl the dust as their feet as an action, causing all creatures within 5 feet that fail a DC 11 Dexterity saving throw to have their vision clouded for 1 round. This causes them to have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks and to have their passive Perception reduced by 4. In addition, they cannot take reactions—including opportunity attacks—for 1 round.

Alternatively, it can be thrown at a creature within 15 feet as a ranged weapon attack. If it hits, it affects only that creature, affecting them as above, but the save DC is increased to 13. In addition, if the target fails its saving throw, it must make a new saving throw at the beginning of its next turn or continue to be affected as above for an additional round (up to a maximum of 1 minute). The save DC is reduced by 1 each round after the first.
