Love Note

Scroll, uncommon

This sheet of fine paper has a faint pinkish tinge. You can write your name and the name of another creature on the love note, signifying your affection for them, and then give the love note to that creature. The paper retains its magical qualities for up to 1 week; if not used by this time, the writing fades and the love note must be inscribed again and can be given to the same creature or a different creature. While the love note is inscribed, as long as the recipient carries it they gain a +1 bonus on saving throws to avoid being charmed. In addition, as an action the recipient can read the note and create a warding bond with you for 1 hour, as though you had cast the spell on them. Alternatively, if the recipient becomes charmed or frightened, they can use an action to read the love note, and its heartwarming effect grants them a new saving throw to end the effect. If the recipient of the love note is commanded or influenced while charmed to take an action harmful to you, they gain an immediate new saving throw with advantage to ignore that command or request and end the charmed effect. Regardless of which effect is used, the love note is destroyed after use. A creature can only be named in one love note at a time; other love notes have no effect until the previous love note is used or destroyed or until the name fades.
