Monocle of the Written Word

While wearing this monocle, you can read and understand any written language that you see, but you must be touching the surface on which the words are written. You can’t write the language, but you may transcribe it into a language that you know. You also can’t decode secret messages in a text, such as an arcane sigil, that isn’t part of the written language.
