Pebbles of Plane Shift Detection

Originally created by the mysterious Madam Tondi to assist an overly cautious group of adventurers, these smooth stones come in a pouch made from hide.

Upon moving from one plane to another, the stones briefly flash bright light in a 5-foot radius and dim light for an additional 5 feet. The color of the light changes based on which plane they now inhabit.

Astute adventurers can make note of the color change to recognize familiar planes; recognizing one color from among many possibilities is more challenging and requires a DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check to identify a particular hue and remember its association. The pouch can be closed to prevent it from emitting light. Removing even one pebble renders the pouch powerless until returned.
