This simple farmer’s implement has a wooden handle and a curved steel blade. It is a magical weapon, granting the wielder a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls when used to attack plants but not against any other creature type. When you hit a plant creature, as a bonus action you can chop off a piece of its body if it fails a DC 12 Strength saving throw; the target has disadvantage on the saving throw if you score a critical hit. On a failed save, you can choose one of the following effects (the effects of multiple failed saves stack):

• Bark: The plant’s AC is reduced by 1 for 1 minute.
• Limb: The plant has disadvantage on melee weapon attack rolls for 1 round. Damage from the plant’s melee weapon attacks is also reduced by 2 for 1 round.
• Trunk: The plant’s speed is reduced by 5 feet for 1 minute.
