Pumpkin Vault

Wondrous Item, uncommon

This tiny seed can be planted in the ground, and after 1 round it swells up to a 1-foot-diameter pumpkin that can be opened as if carved by the one who planted it with a command word they choose at the time of planting. The interior is dry, hollow, and larger than the outside, able to hold up to 5 cubic feet of goods, and once filled the command word can be repeated and the pumpkin vault seal itself and can shrink itself down to appear indistinguishable from an ordinary pumpkin, as small as a few inches in diameter, mixed in with a cluster of other similar pumpkins along a vine. It can be restored to full size at any time with the command word and items within removed or replaced.

The items in the pumpkin vault can be stored for up to 7 days (in which case the pumpkin vault radiates magic), or the planter can seal them within for 24 hours and shroud the contents with the benefit of a nondetection spell. If any creature handles or closely examines the pumpkin vault without speaking the command word, they become frightened for 1 minute unless they succeed on a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw. They can attempt a new saving throw each round at the beginning of their turn to end the frightened condition; however, if they fail more than one saving throw, their memory is clouded at the conclusion of their fright and they forget about the pumpkin vault and that they ever examined it.

If the duration expires and the items are still inside, the pumpkin vault bursts into a slimy mess. If the items have been removed, the pumpkin vault returns to full size and then becomes a nonmagical pumpkin.
