Rod of Nettles

Rod, rare (requires attunement)

This stout wooden rod is twined about with leafy vines and surmounted by a glowing green crystal. The wielder can use the rod of nettles to make a melee spell attack, causing a creature struck to become poisoned by stinging nettles for 1d6 rounds if it fails a DC 14 Constitution saving throw. On a critical hit, the target has disadvantage on this saving throw.

As an action, the wielder can cause tangling vines covered in stinging nettle leaves to burst out of the ground. This functions like entangle (DC 14 Strength saving throw to avoid being restrained), but in addition creatures in the area are exposed to the stinging poison of the nettles as if they had been struck by the rod.

After using this ability, you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.
