This hollow metal rod is pierced with many small holes and emits a musical tone when swung through the air. You can use the rod to cast message as often as desired. In addition, you can use the rod’s power to summon a tiny air elemental to deliver a message for you. This functions like the animal messenger spell, but the elemental is invisible save as a faint rustle in the air and moves twice as fast as a typical flying animal, able to carry a message up to 100 miles within 24 hours. Once it has sent such a message, the rod can’t be used again until the next dawn.
