Senator’s Stole

Wondrous item, uncommon

This richly embroidered velvet stole can be worn loosely over the shoulders or tightly around the wearer’s neck, denoting their noble rank and helping them navigate the corridors of power with elan. The wearer gains advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) and Intelligence (History) checks, and if they converse with a creature for 1 round they can make a Wisdom (Insight) check with advantage to discern whether that person is a member of the nobility, even if in disguise. The wearer becomes a master of convoluted verbiage, gaining a +1 bonus on saving throws against being charmed and against effects that require intelligible speech, such as command and suggestion and increasing the save DC by 1 for such language-based effects that they use.
