Shield of Determination

Armor (shield), rare (requires attunement)

This mystical metal +1 shield is emblazoned with iconography representing strength of mind, spirit, and will and the fortitude to carry on to the bitter end. An attuned wielder can use one of the following abilities as a reaction when the listed condition is met.

• When reduced to 0 hit points, you regain 5d10 hit points.
• When you would become frightened, you can reroll your saving throw against the effect that frightened you with advantage.
• When you would gain a level of exhaustion, you can ignore that level of exhaustion. This does not remove exhaustion you already have gained.

Regardless of which ability you use, once you have used the shield of determination’s power, you cannot use any of these abilities again until you have completed a long rest.
