Shield of Excellence

Armor (Shield), very rare (requires attunement by a fighter)

This elaborately sculpted shield grants a magical +1 bonus to AC, in addition to its normal shield bonus.

In addition, while worn, it grants the following benefits if you have the associated Fighting Style: Archery: When you are hit by a ranged attack with a weapon, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by 1d10 + your level in the class that grants this Fighting Style. If that reduces the damage to 0 or less, the attack misses, and as part of the same reaction, you can make a ranged attack with the same range and weapon damage as the attack made against you.

Defense: Weapon attacks inflict 2 points less damage to you.

Dueling: The shield’s magical bonus to AC doubles to +2.

Great Weapon Fighting: If you use two hands, you can attack with the shield as though it were a maul, counting as a magic weapon.

Protection: When you use your reaction for Protection, your ally has resistance to the damage of the triggering attack.

Two-Weapon Fighting: As a bonus action, you can attack with the shield as a though wielding a light weapon in your off-hand. The shield grants a +1 bonus to hit and damage, and deals 1d6 bludgeoning, plus your Strength modifier as usual.
