This threadbare garment allows its wearer to alter their appearance at will as disguise self, except the wearer can only appear as a plainly or raggedly dressed Small human child or adult halfling or gnome (or similar Small race, depending on the campaign world).

The appearance of the orphan smock can be altered as part of the disguise.

While disguised by this illusion, as a bonus action you can cringe fearfully, looking so harmless and inoffensive that humanoids with Intelligence 7 or greater may refuse to attack you; this functions as sanctuary (DC 12). After this sanctuary effect ends, you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.
