Wand of Extinguishing

Wand, rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

This wand has 10 charges. While holding it, you can extinguish Medium or small natural fires as an action simply by touching them with the wand. This expends no charges. You can expend 1 of its charges to extinguish a 20-foot cube of non-magical fire up. This does not affect magma, molten metal, or other solid or liquid sources of heat.

As an action, you can expend 1 of its charges to make a melee spell attack to touch a flame tongue, flaming sphere, or similar magical flame no larger than a 5-foot square. This causes that fire or spell effect to cease functioning for 6 rounds. Its duration continues to elapse during this time, but if its duration extends beyond this time it resumes functioning with its remaining duration. If you use this melee spell attack against a fire elemental, efreeti, red dragon, or similar fire-based creature (GM’s discretion), the target takes 2d6 cold damage, and you can choose to expend up to 2 additional charges, increasing damage by 2d6 for each charge you expend. In addition, you can expend 2 charges of its charges to end a larger magical fire effect. This functions as dispel magic cast as a 4th-level spell but affects only fire spells. The wand regains 1d6+1 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the wand’s last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the wand ignites in a heatless flame and is incinerated, leaving nothing but soot.
