Canid, Greater

Greater canid are dogfolk known for being incredibly loyal to their companions. A diverse race, canid exist throughout most worlds, working in all professions from seasoned adventurers to common merchants. Most canid coexist peacefully with other races, although some can be aggressive and territorial. They are sentient but can still succumb to instinct, such as randomly barking at strangers, attempting to sniff each other, or zooming around with excitement.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.

Age. Canid age similarly to typical dogs, reaching adulthood after around 15 months; few live beyond 16 years.

Alignment. Canid are kind-hearted and love helping others. They are neutral good.

Rarity. Common.

Size. Canid are the same height and weight as humans. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 35 feet.

Bite. You have fangs, and so your unarmed strikes can deal ld6 piercing damage. Your bite has the light and finesse weapon properties, and you have proficiency with it.

Canid Senses. You have proficiency in the Perception skill. When using your sense of hearing or smell to attempt Wisdom (Perception) checks, double your proficiency bonus.

Pack Tactics. You have advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one of your allies is within 5 feet of the creature and isn’t incapacitated.

Languages. You speak, read, and write Common.

Canid, Lesser

These canid are dogfolk of smaller breeds. Though much of the information about greater canid still holds true for them, notably the guarantee of a celestial afterlife, smaller canid interact with the world differently than their taller kin.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.

Age. Canid age similarly to typical dogs, reaching adulthood after around nine months; few live beyond 16 years.

Alignment. Canid are kind-hearted and love helping others, however lesser canid may take a dislike to some despite their typical alignment. They are neutral good or chaotic good.

Rarity. Common.

Size. Lesser canid have the same height and weight as gnomes. Your size is Small.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Bite. You have fangs, and so your unarmed strikes can deal Id3 piercing damage. Your bite has the light and finesse weapon properties, and you have proficiency with it.

Canid Senses. You have proficiency in the Perception skill. When using your sense of hearing or smell to attempt Wisdom (Perception) checks, double your proficiency bonus.

Pack Tactics. You have advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one of your allies is within 5 feet of the creature and isn’t incapacitated.

Underfoot. You can move through the space of any creature that is larger than you.

Languages. You speak, read, and write Common.
