Cogsmic

Cogsmic are celestial bureaucrats who monitor and maintain the various natural domains of the Mortal Plane. Without their constant vigil, the laws of nature would unravel. They oversee the Engines of Reality from the celestial realm of Home Office, working in cubicles and taking breaks only every few decades. So efficient are they that newborn cogsmic are immediately declared redundant and expelled to the Mortal Plane. A cogsmic who retires must sign a divine nondisclosure agreement (NDA) before journeying to the Mortal Plane.

While loa, orishas, and other powerful beings control the balance of the elemental domains on the Mortal Plane, the cogsmic ensure the domains function at all. These domains originate from the light of the Essence Core, and without the Engines of Reality to regulate them, the Mortal Plane would descend into chaos.
