Draconic

Draconics are descended from ancient dragon lineages. They have the ability to fly and can exhale elemental breath connected to their lineage. They share genetic memories with their ancestors and can often recall ancient primal events. Draconics are found throughout The Empire and the nations beyond, hoping to broker peace between dragonkind and other mortals.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score and your Wisdom score each increase by 1.

Age. Draconics mature quickly, reaching adulthood in four years. Their dragon blood allows them to age slowly, but few see more than four centuries.

Alignment. Draconics have worldviews as varied as their dragon parents and kin. Most draconics, due to their unique bloodline and supernatural abilities, consider themselves to be superior to other humanoids. This feeling can lead some draconics to take on protecting weaker beings, while others think their might makes them right.

Rarity. Rare.

Size. Draconics are sinuous and human-sized, standing over 6 feet tall and weighing around 200 pounds. Their folded wings can make them seem taller than humans. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Heritage (Dragon, Dragonborn). You are a humanoid, but you are considered to be a dragon and dragonborn whenever it is detrimental for you. In addition, you meet the dragonborn prerequisite for racial feats.

Draconic Memory. You gain proficiency in the History skill and other one skill or tool. Once per day when you fail a skill check, you can channel the collective knowledge of your ancestors to reroll that check. If you roll a natural 20 on an Intelligence (History) check, the GM can impart to you a brief, cryptic memory from an ancestor about the topic.

Dragon Breath. You can use your action to exhale elemental breath like a dragon. Choose acid, cold, fire, or lightning. Your breath deals that damage type. When you gain this ability, choose a IS-foot cone or 30-foot line that is 5 feet wide; that’s your area for your breath weapon, which can’t be changed. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in the selected area must attempt a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus). Creatures take 2d4 damage of the type your breath deals on a failed save, or half that damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d4 at 6th level, 4d4 at 11th level, and Sd4 at 16th level. Once you use your dragon breath, you can do so again only after you have finished a short or long rest. You have access to the Improved Dragon Breath feat.

Weak Wings. You have wings, but they aren’t yet strong enough to grant you full flight. Provided you have space double what you require (usually 10 feet), you can flap your wings to jump as if you had a 10-foot running start. If you can do so and have a 10-foot start, double the distance you jump. When you fall, provided you have double your space to open them, you can use your wings to slow your fall to 60 feet per round, taking no damage from falling. Also, for every 10 feet you fall, you can move 10 feet horizontally. Each foot you move horizontally this way counts as 1 foot of movement. You have access to the Improved Wings and Strong Wings feats (see Appendix A).

Languages. You speak, read, and write Common and Draconic.
