Dummy

Dummies are wooden puppets brought to life though various metaphysical means. A dummy might be animated through Fae or other magic, become possessed by a ghost or spirit, or be the cursed vessel for the soul of a living being (usually a ventriloquist who angered a witch or daemon). Dummies love to make sarcastic and biting jokes, usually at the expense of others, and appreciate clever wordplay.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

Age. A dummy is animated as an adult and doesn’t age thereafter.

Alignment. Dummies are fun-loving and loyal to friends, but they can be self-centered and cruel, especially with their biting wit. Many dummies are neutral, but the most mean-spirited ones are also evil.

Rarity. Rare.

Size. Dummies are between 2 and 3 feet tall, weighing 30 to 40 pounds. Your size is Small.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Creepy Jokester. You gain proficiency in the Intimidation and Performance skills.

Dummy’s Ridicule. Your incisive wit can cut to the bone. You know the vicious mockery cantrip. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it.

Living Construct. You are a humanoid, but your constructed nature gives you the following traits.

  • You are immune to disease and have resistance to poison damage. Also, you can add your proficiency bonus to saving throws against being poisoned. If you have proficiency in such a saving throw, your proficiency bonus is doubled against being poisoned.
  • You need not eat, drink, or breathe.
  • You need not sleep and don’t suffer the effects of exhaustion due to lack of rest. Magic can’t put you to sleep.
  • During a long rest, which you still need, you remain conscious and aware.

Languages. You speak, read, and write Common.
