Fae Dragon

Fae dragons are an offshoot dragon species imbued with Fae magic. Though they belong to the dragon lineage, they lack the genetic memory and traditional forms of other dragon races. Fae dragons live in forests where humans and other mortals rarely tread, even avoiding elves when able. Though they keep to themselves, when they choose to contact others they are friendly and eager to explore the outside world.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age. After hatching, fae dragons age at an accelerated rate. They reach adulthood in a month, though they continue acting like children during their adult years. They are seemingly ageless.

Alignment. Fun and friendship drive fae dragons, though their wavering attention can cause them to seem without care. Fae dragons mean well and are chaotic good.

Rarity. Rare.

Size. Fae dragons stand about 2 to 3 feet tall and are 2 to 3 feet long, depending on their body type. They weigh about the same as a small dog. Your size is Small.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness within the same range as if it were dim light. Absent even dim light, this vision is monochromatic.

Bite. You have fangs, and so your unarmed strikes can deal ld3 piercing damage. Your bite has the light and finesse weapon properties, and you have proficiency with it.

Dragon (Fey). Your creature type is dragon, and you are considered to be a fey whenever it is detrimental for you. Spells and effects that normally target only humanoids still affect you.

Fae Magic. You know the dancing lights, light, and minor illusion cantrips. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast invisibility on yourself once per day. When you attain 5th level, you regain the ability to cast this spell each time you finish a short or long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells, and you need no material components for them.

Weak Wings. You have wings, but they aren’t yet strong enough to grant you full flight. Provided you have space double what you require (usually 10 feet), you can flap your wings to jump as if you had a 10-foot running start. If you can do so and have a 10-foot start, double the distance you jump. When you fall, provided you have double your space to open them, you can use your wings to slow your fall to 60 feet per round, taking no damage from falling. Also, for every 10 feet you fall, you can move 10 feet horizontally. Each foot you move horizontally this way counts as 1 foot of movement. You have access to the Improved Wings and Strong Wings feats (see Appendix A).

Languages. You speak, read, and write Common, Draconic, and Fae.
