Goblin, Snow

Goblins can be found in virtually any environment. Related to bugbears and hobgoblins in a category called goblinoid, recordings of goblins can be found in even the oldest historical records.

Goblin Ancestral Traits

Your snow goblin character has several distinctive traits, thanks to your goblinoid ancestry.

Age. Goblins age very quickly, reaching adulthood by ten years old, with lifespans up to 60 years.

Size. Goblins at between 3 and 4 feet tall, weighing not much more than 60 or 70 pounds. Your size is Small.

Darkvision. Goblins historically lived in caves and subterranean regions, granting their descendants superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Omnivorous. Goblins can eat almost anything without fear of getting sick. You have advantage on saving throws against poison and disease, and you have resistance against poison damage, triggered by something you have eaten or drunk.

Snow Goblin Cultural Traits

Snow goblin communities are found in arctic regions, usually in caverns or secluded valleys that protect them from the worst of the weather.

These communities grow simple crops in the brief growing season and catch fish and small game the rest of the year. For leisure, these communities engage in dance and song, though the young often enjoy pranks as well. As a member of such a community, you have certain traits.

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2 and your Dexterity score by 1.

Alignment. Snow goblin communities are often places that alternate between life or death struggles with the environment and moments of simple joy, both seen as parts of the ups and downs of life. Because of this, the communities tend toward neutrality.

Nimble Escape. You can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of your turns.

Snow Camouflage. Due to their white clothing and familiarity with the environment, members of snow goblin communities have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide or sneak in snowy terrain.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Goblin.
