Golem, Flesh

Flesh golems are corpses stitched together into undead beings animated with science instead of magic. Flesh golems occasionally retain threads of their previous personalities, and rarer yet, intelligent and philosophical golems sometimes develop from the sad mass of flesh they exist as. They often have a great fear of fire.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Intelligence score increases by 1.

Age. Only adult brains and bodies are used to create a functioning frankenstein. They are ageless.

Alignment. Unlike those that created them, flesh golems have come to embrace lawful society. Many serve as leaders to the undead and monstrous races that other mortal races shun, and are lawful good.

Rarity. Uncommon.

Size. Humans in life, frankensteins share their height and weight, though they may weigh 30 to 40 pounds more than they appear. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Lightning Absorption. You have resistance to lightning damage. When you take lightning damage, you can expend Hit Dice to heal as if you had finished a short rest. The minimum number of hit points you regain from each die equals twice your Constitution bonus or 2, whichever is more.

Living Corpse. You are a humanoid, but your undead nature gives you the following traits.

  • You are immune to disease, and you have resistance to poison damage. Also, you can add your proficiency bonus to saving throws against being poisoned. If you have proficiency in such a saving throw, your proficiency bonus is doubled against being poisoned.
  • You need not eat, drink, or breathe.
  • Although you can be healed as if you’re humanoid, and the raise dead spell works on you (returning you to “life” as a frankenstein), you are otherwise considered to be undead whenever it is detrimental for you.

Mighty. Calculate your carrying capacity and the weight you can drag, push, and lift as if you were Large.

Aversion to Fire. You recoil from fire. If you take fire damage, you have disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the end of your next turn.

Scientific Legacy. You have proficiency in one Intelligence-based skill and one tool.

Slam. Your unarmed strikes can deal 1 d4 bludgeoning damage. These strikes have the light weapon property, and you have proficiency with them.

Languages. You speak, read, and write Common and Shadowtongue.
