Laguna

Lagunas are a race of amphibious fish-beasts inhabiting jungles, swamps, and lagoons. They often find members of other races more attractive than their own. Though believed to be feral creatures without reason, lagunas have cultivated powerful societies hidden beneath bodies of water.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Strength score increases by 1.

Age. After becoming an adult within four years, a laguna can live to be 75.

Alignment. Lagunas see their personal freedom and desires as most important, and so they live without thinking much about the consequences. However, they tend toward gentleness rather than cruelty. Most lagunas are chaotic neutral, and a few are chaotic good.

Rarity. Rare.

Size. A laguna is built like a muscular human. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet. You have a swimming speed of 30 feet.

Amphibious. You can breathe air and water.

Attuned to the Wild. You have proficiency in the Perception, Stealth, and Survival skills.

Natural Weapons. You have fangs and claws, and so your unarmed strikes can deal ld4 piercing damage (bite) or slashing damage (claws). Your natural weapons have the light and finesse properties, and you have proficiency with them.

Speak with Aquatic Beasts. Through a sort of limited telepathy, you can communicate simple ideas with Small or smaller aquatic or amphibious beasts.

Languages. You speak Common and Monstrous. Some lagunas learn Aquatic as well. They learn to read and write only if their background or class suggests they do.
