Mycoid

Mycoids are mushroomfolk. Though they appear humanoid, they are made of fungus. They see death as a restorative aspect of life. Though they live underground, they travel to spread their spores.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.

Age. Aging at an accelerated rate, mycoids reach adulthood in a few months (or faster if they are in dark and wet environments). They live to be no more than 80.

Alignment. Mycoids keep to themselves and stay out of the politics of other races. They are neutral.

Rarity. Rare. While they are common in the Dark Below and other subterranean areas, it would be odd to find mycoids walking sunlit lands.

Size. These plant folk are similar in height and weight to flora. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness within the same range as if it were dim light. Absent even dim light, this vision is monochromatic.

Healing Body. During a short rest, you can pluck fungal growths from your body to expend your Hit Dice on behalf of another creature, provided that creature can be healed like a humanoid. That creature regains the number of hit points you roll. You can expend 3 Hit Dice to cure an ongoing nonmagical disease or end a poison effect instead of restoring hit points.

Heritage (Plant). You are humanoid, but you are considered to be a plant whenever it is detrimental for you.

Mycoid Craft. You have proficiency in the Medicine skill, as well as with alchemist’s supplies and the herbalism kit.

Regenerate. Whenever you return to your full hit point maximum, any limbs or organs you lost spontaneously regrow.

Spore Spray. You can produce a spray of poisonous spores. This ability works like the poison spray can trip, except it is nonmagical. Your Constitution is used as if it were your spellcasting ability to determine the saving throw for this trait.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Deep Common. You have enough of an understanding to speak and read basic Sylvan.
