Oni

Onis are a race of devilish yokai created when evil souls are reborn through infernal ritual and magic.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age. Onis grow and mature at the same rate as humans but can live twice as long.

Alignment. Most onis want to disrupt order, whether natural or societal. An oni given a task tries to bend the parameters as much as possible to cause chaos. A few onis are chaotic neutral, but most are chaotic evil.

Rarity. Rare.

Size. An oni is usually over 6 feet tall and bulky. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness within the same range as if it were dim light. Absent even dim light, this vision is monochromatic.

Claws. You have sharp claws, and so your unarmed strikes can deal ld3 slashing damage. Your claws have the light and finesse weapon properties, and you have proficiency with them.

Regrow. You regain 1 extra Hit Die per day. Each time you spend a Hit Die, you regain 1 extra hit point. If you lose a limb, it regrows when you regain all your hit points.

Oni Magic. You know two sorcerer cantrips. When you attain 3rd level, you learn one 1st-level sorcerer spell. Once you reach 5th level, you learn a 2nd-level sorcerer spell. You can cast the cantrips at will but each spell only once per day. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells, and you need material components for them only if the component has a cost and is consumed by the spell.

Heritage (Fiend).You are humanoid, but you are considered to be a fiend whenever it is detrimental for you.

Languages. You speak, read, and write Common and the Yokami dialect of Ethereal. Some onis seek other supernatural evils as allies and learn Infernal.
