Puppets love to entertain and strive to lighten the mood at every opportunity.


Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2, and one other ability score of your choice increases by 1.

Age. Puppets are animated fully mature, at least physically. They do not age.

Alignment. A puppet is usually kind and interested in exploring possibilities. Puppets enjoy meeting new people, helping such folks, and seeing new sights, making them ideal adventurers. Puppets are usually neutral good.

Rarity. Common.

Size. Although diverse in appearance, most puppets are between 2 and 3 feet tall, weighing only 20 pounds. Your size is Small.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Feat. You gain one feat of your choice.

Living Construct. You are a humanoid, but your constructed nature gives you the following traits.

  • You are immune to disease and have resistance to poison damage. Also, you can add your proficiency bonus to saving throws against being poisoned. If you have proficiency in such a saving throw, your proficiency bonus with it is doubled against being poisoned.
  • You need not eat, drink, or breathe.
  • You need not sleep, and you don’t suffer the effects of exhaustion from lack of rest. Magic can’t put you to sleep.
  • During a long rest, which you still need, you remain conscious and aware.

Training. You have proficiency in one skill, tool, or weapon.

Languages. You speak, read, and write Common and one other language.

Unique Appearance. While many puppets resemble humans, some have colors that a typical human wouldn’t have. Additionally, some puppets look like monsters (similar to the monster race) while others resemble humanoid animals, such as pigs, bears, or frogs. If you choose to play as a nonhuman-like puppet, this choice does not impart any abilities of the chosen monster or animal.
