Sound Elf

Sound elves have wings on their feet, which allow them to move very quickly. They are used all over Faerie to send important messages. They are very nimble and capable of mimicking and repeating anything they hear. This makes them quite useful as living recordings; if pressed, it can also be used as a weapon.

Traits

  • Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 1.
  • Alignment. Sound elves, unlike flash and twilight elves, take their duties quite seriously and stick to a set of rules that prohibits them from interfering with messages or otherwise using their considerable influence to alter communication. They tends toward law and try to be neutral in all things, not always successfully.
  • Fey Step. As a bonus action, you can magically teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. Once you use this trait, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest. When you reach 3rd level, immediately after you use your Fey Step, each creature of your choice that you can see within 5 feet of you takes thunder damage equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1 damage).
  • Fleet of Foot. Your base walking speed increases to 35 feet.
  • Mimicry. You can mimic sounds you have heard, including voices. A creature that hears the sounds you make can tell they are imitations with a successful Wisdom (Insight) check opposed by your Charisma (Deception) check.
  • Thunder Resistance. You are resistant to thunder damage.
