Talos

Talos are mechanical stonelike constructs created by the Titans to serve them. Unlike the titanframes, who were constructed to protect Genesis, talos served only their masters. When the Titans were defeated by the Eternals, gods, and other powerful beings during the Titan War, talos found themselves free to go about Creation as they saw fit. They can remove their masks and place them on other talos machines to operate them as their bodies. Talos seek these machines, lost throughout Creation, for their own individual plans and purposes.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2, and one other ability score of your choice increases by 1.

Age. Talas are born as adults and are ageless.

Alignment. Talas are driven by their own conscious and hidden machinations. Most are neutral evil.

Rarity. Mythical, though Talas are uncommon to rare in celestial and infernal realms.

Size. Talas are between 5 and 6 feet tall and weigh between 300 and 400 pounds. Some have different sizes and shapes. As a typical model, your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Armor Integration. With 8 hours of work, your armor can be integrated into your body, so you can’t take it off without 4 hours of work. Integrated heavy armor doesn’t reduce your speed, and it imposes no disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.

Living Construct. You are a humanoid, but your constructed nature gives you the following traits.

  • You are immune to disease and have resistance to poison damage. Also, you can add your proficiency bonus to saving throws against being poisoned. If you have proficiency in such a saving throw, your proficiency bonus is doubled against being poisoned.
  • You need not eat, drink, or breathe.
  • You need not sleep and don’t suffer the effects of exhaustion due to lack of rest. Magic can’t put you to sleep.
  • During a long rest, which you still need, you remain conscious and aware.

Purpose Built. You have proficiency in one skill and one tool.

Talos Interface. As an action, you can remove your face plate and place it on other Talas technology, allowing you to communicate with and, in some circumstances, control that technology.

Languages. You speak, read, and write Common. You can choose two other languages with which you have similar fluency.
