Tortan

Tortans are long-lived tortoisefolk. Ancient and wise, they travel in search of stories and new alliances to increase their understanding of the world. They are slow and deliberate with their actions, taking time before making a decision.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

Age. With a decelerated rate of aging, most tartans do not reach adulthood until their sixties. Typically a tartan lives at least 1,200 years if not another century more.

Alignment. Tartans strive to make allies as they travel, doing their best to study and learn the cultures of those they visit. They are neutral good.

Rarity. Uncommon.

Size. Tartan stand 5 feet tall, and most weigh 450 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Barterer. You have proficiency in the Insight and Persuasion skills.

Hold Breath. You can hold your breath for a number of minutes equal to 10 + your Constitution bonus. Once you run out of breath, you can survive for a number of rounds equal to 5 + your Constitution bonus.

Tortan Shell. Your shell gives you additional protection from damage. At 1st level, your hit point maximum increases by 2, and it increases by 2 every time you gain a level thereafter.

Languages. You speak, read, and write Common, and Aquatic. You can choose one other language in which you have similar fluency.
