Trollkin

You’re witty and friendly but often misunderstood. Rather than mistrusting you because of how you act, people often judge you because of your cultural background and outward appearance.

While you are unlike normal trolls, most people are still unable to see past the fact that you’re a troll. You often try to enlighten and teach others. You put your best foot forward and show people how their assumptions are incorrect. Your efforts don’t always work, but the hope that things can change drives you onward. Deep within you is a strong, abiding love for others. There is nothing you enjoy more than good conversation among good friends. You meet new people with ease and forgive mistakes easily, hoping other do the same for you.

One thing people don’t expect from you is your love of debate. You love sparring ideas with other people and spending hours discussing the fine points of very specific topics. You don’t need to be right, but you thrive on exploring competing ideas and broadening your own view of the world.

Covered in hair from head to toe, though smaller than your monstrous cousins, people still see you as something to fear. Sometimes you forget yourself, think you’re still human, and walk directly up to someone and then wonder at them backing away in fear. You’d do well to learn from the other trollkin and approach people with caution lest they take advantage of your sensitivity to fire.

Among the trollkin you’re accepted, even though they know you’re an outsider. After all, many consider the trolls outsiders themselves so who are they to judge? It’s sometimes hard for you to understand why trolls are so peaceful, why they focus on mercantile pursuits, and forgive grave offenses.
