Vashnai

Vashnai are a devilish race that surrendered to celestial powers, fighting now on the side of good against other fiendish and infernal races. They are experts in many different religious and magical traditions.

Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength, Wisdom, and Charisma scores each increase by 1.

Age. A vashnai matures slightly slower than a human. Vashnai live for nearly two millennia.

Alignment. Vashnai culture is a benevolent theocracy dedicated to protecting the world, its knowledge, and its people. A typical vashnai is compassionate and honorable, willing to sacrifice for the benefit of others. Most vashnai are lawful good.

Rarity. Uncommon.

Size. Vashnai are taller than humans, made even more so by their horns, so most are over 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness within the same range as if it were dim light. Absent even dim light, this vision is monochromatic.

Blessed Magic. You know the thaumaturgy and spare the dying cantrips. When you attain 3rd level, you can cast bless as a 1st-level spell without the material component. Once you cast bless, you can do so again only after you finish a short or long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Blessed Vitality. During a short rest, you can invoke the divine to allow you to regain extra hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier for each Hit Die you expend. You can forgo this benefit to invoke the divine at the end of a short rest to end one disease or a poisoned condition affecting you, or to return your hit point maximum to normal. If you do any of these, you must finish a long rest before using this ability again.

Languages. You speak, read, and write Common and Celestial. Vashnai also like to learn Sylvan.
